Cheshire ladies secure promotion to the top group of the AEGON Summer County Cup. This year, in group 2, the team was without Cheshire's 2 top ladies, which makes their achievement even more remarkable. The team spirit was great and the ladies all fought extremely hard especially when it came to converting 3 set matches. The team played 15 3-setters during the week and won 12, some from apparently impossible positions. Everyone in the team won a crucial rubber making it an overall team performance. They defeated Yorkshire, Leicestershire, Kent and although losing narrowly to a strengthened Essex team they gained promotion in 2nd place to Warwickshire who were unbeaten during the week.
