Three Cheshire Mens County Veterans’ teams competed in the Div 1 play off matches in Birmingham and two were successful.
The 65 and the 75 mens’ teams both won their matches to become Div 1 National Champions. The 65 team beat Kent, who were involved in 5 finals, 3-2 and the 75 team beat Middlesex, who were in 4 finals, 3-1. The success of these 2 teams is a fantastic achievement and the 1st of its kind for Cheshire. Unfortunately, the 60’s team narrowly lost in their final to Essex 2-3 but nonetheless to have 3 county teams topping Div 1 is extremely commendable.
