Cheshire players had an outstanding week at the recent British Open Senior Indoor Championships. A total of five titles went to three players, with Seb Jackson retaining his singles title in the 40's & Over age group, and then he went on to win the 40's & Over doubles with Nick Gould (Avon).
Peter Ellison in the 80's & Over won his first ever British singles title, and then followed this up with a victory in the doubles partnering Tom Baron (Lancs). The 5th title for Cheshire went to Alma A'Court when she won the 75 & Over doubles with joy Dally (Surrey). Other notable achievements were john Hilton who reached the final of the 60's & Over singles, and Alma A'Court also won through to the 75 & Over singles. Both were involved in extremely long and close finals, but unfortunately just lost. This is the first year that so many Cheshire players have achieved such a level of success in a Grade 1 International Seniors Tournament.
