In total 80 pupils participated and benefitted from the experience of competing in this Halton School Games competition. Schools participating included:
Lunts Heath (5 x teams)
St Bedes Juniors (2 x teams)
Moorfield (1 x team)
Spinney Avenue (3 x teams)
St Bertelines (1 x team)
St Gerards (2 x teams)
St Basils (6 x teams)
The aim of the festival was to introduce pupils to the competitive element of tennis at the same time having fun and enjoying the sport with the desired outcome that pupils would continue to take part in the sport outside of school and join the club.
Alison Redman and coaches from Widnes Tennis Academy delivered the competition on the day and provided all pupils with information on further coaching sessions that were available. Thanks to the Sports Leaders from Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Collge and Wade Deacon for providing great support and umpiring the matches to ensure the competition ran smoothly.
