The Monkhouse Shield is staying with last year’s successful one day format. A full day’s tennis for all teams from 10.00 to 18.00 on Sunday 21st September 2014.
- The Monkhouse Shield will be played as a one day event on September 21st at Congleton
- Qualifying event on Sunday 7th September if necessary
- Boys and Girls events
- Girls teams can be entered from two clubs playing together
- Boys teams can be entered from two small clubs (4 courts or fewer) playing together
- Teams in round robin groups then a compass type draw giving all teams a full day’s tennis.
- Teams will be made up of 4 players playing doubles.
- Each tie will be 2 matches of 8 games, no ad scoring, total games to count.
- Each Team will receive vouchers for refreshments.
- Entry fee £10 per team.
- All players must be under 18 on 1st September 2013 (born after August 31st 1995) and be British Tennis Members. They must be bona-fide playing members of the club they represent.
