For the third year running, the Aegon Pro Series Wirral will be held at Wirral Tennis and Sports Centre during February. Players ranked between 200 and 500 in the world will be attending the tournament, competing for a share of the $10,000 prize money.
Qualifying for the tournament starts on Sunday 2nd February with the main draw running throughout the week, culminating in the final on Sat 8th February at 11.30. It is totally free of charge for spectators, who are more than welcome to come along and watch the high quality tennis on show.
During the week, pupils from various local schools will be coming to watch the tennis, and they will also get the chance to meet some of the stars of the future.
Wirral Tennis and Sports Centre coaching team are running a free tennis festival for infant and primary school children on the morning of the final (Sat 8th February 9.30 – 11.00). Everyone across the borough is welcome to attend, before the main event of the day, the Men’s singles final at 11.30am.
