Elite Academy, a Liverpool based educational provider with over ten years’ experience in the North West of England are offering young players aged 16-19 the opportunity to combine their education with gaining the skills and qualifications needed to become a professional tennis coach.
They will be taught a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence) and a Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. Upon completion of these qualifications players can apply to university in the UK, colleges in America or move into a career in tennis coaching.
Our aim is to create a pathway for players who want a career in coaching. They will study with Elite Academy in the morning at our training centre and in the afternoon they will train at David Lloyd Speke where they be taught how to become successful coaches in the future. They will have the opportunity to improve their own playing standard but the main emphasis will be on developing them as coaches.
Throughout the two year duration of the course players will be put through their Level 1, 2 and 3 coaching qualifications. Alongside this, many of the units they cover in the Extended Diploma such as Sports Coaching, Sports Development, Sports Nutrition, Psychology for Sport and Sport as a Business prepare them perfectly for a career as a tennis coach once they achieve the qualification. Our aim is to produce well rounded coaches who understand the technical and tactical sides of the game and give them with all the skills needed to be successful coaches. We are not necessarily looking for the best tennis players. We are more interested in finding well motivated, enthusiastic individuals who wish to be part of a first class learning and coaching environment. Once they join the Academy they will be integrated into a junior coaching programme where they will develop their coaching skills and gain valuable work experience.
This is the first ever coaching and education Academy in Liverpool and a unique chance for young aspiring tennis coaches to achieve their dreams.
