STUDENT TENNIS COORDINATOR
Brief Job Description
Manchester Metropolitan University is seeking to recruit a part-time postgraduate on a two-year course with a strong interest in tennis development to work and study at Manchester Metropolitan University.
This is a unique opportunity to combine postgraduate study, tennis development and tennis coaching during their two years at MMU.
Job Specification
All candidates must either have a confirmed place or an intention to apply for a part time postgraduate course delivered by Manchester Metropolitan University and have or be willing to obtain a Level 2 Tennis qualification, supported by some previous coaching experience.
The appointed Student Tennis Co-ordinator will be expected to work 9 hours per week on a part time basis during the year, joining a developing and ambitious Sport Services team, starting Autumn 2013.
The Student Tennis Co-ordinator role will include:
- Increasing participation levels of students at Manchester Metropolitan University through setting up and implementing student sessions
- Support the development of the MMU Tennis Club
- Developing competitive opportunities for all levels of player
- Developing a Coach Education and Training programme for students
- Establish a tennis volunteering programme
- Establish events that would include other Universities
- To develop and implement a system to monitor number for participation, competition and retention
- To assist in the publicity of the Campus Sport programme internally and externally and the recruitment of students to the tennis club.
The contract is worth £10,000 per annum to the University Tennis Co-ordinator, which will be generated through coaching fees for various user groups.
