What a fantastic achievement for the Men’s County Over 65 team (Cheshire Team of the Year) who have beaten Dorset in the Division 1 playoffs to win the National title for the fourth successive year! Truly remarkable!
The team comprised: John Hilton, Rod Boswell, Peter Clover, Brendan Kearney and Bob Martin.
Apparently most of the team were below par fitness wise(!), which makes the achievement even more remarkable.
The match went to 2-2 and in the final rubber John and Rod saved two match points having had three hemselves, before clinching victory.
