There is a a specially designed strength and conditioning facility in Birchwood Park, Warrington which is about to open to local 11-17 year olds. Ant Shaw, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach said “Our program helps young athletes get stronger, improve flexibility, reduce risk of injury and it makes them faster. This moves their competitive ability up a level and works with the existing coaching they already receive. We also run a basic healthy eating program for everyone involved.” Ant explains “This is not fitness training, this is improving their strength, co-ordination, teaching them to move efficiently and keep them progressing on a long-term athletic development pathway. It's worth mentioning that the members of this program don't even have to play sports. "I want to help kids who want/need to be more active too. Or those who want to start a healthy hobby, or are victims of bullying."
- This is open to all children/teenagers 11-17 years old.
- Training is 4:45pm-5:30pm Mondays and Wednesdays.
- There is a small cost of £20 to join, then £25 per month.
"My goal is really to give something back to the local community and help young kids get stronger physically and mentally."
