Happy competitors

The 'Nicholson Shield' and 'Simpkin Shield' are annual competitions for all Cornish schools.  The schools can enter a team of their 4 best players from year 7 to year 11.  The girls compete for the 'Nicholson Shield' and  the boys compete for the 'Simpkin Shield'.

They are timed doubles events that always prove to be popular, this year was no exception with some brilliant competetive matches played throughout the day at Heron Tennis Centre, Newquay.  After some toughly fought matches Truro School won the girls event and Bodmin Community College won the boys, well done.

A big thank you to all the staff who attended and helped Hilary Webster (referee) and Heather Jones with the organisation.
