Wadebridge Tennis Club were presented with Beacon Status on Bank Holiday Monday. The plaque was presented to Howard Gunn and Bobby Rounsevell by Peter Bretherton President of The LTA. The event took place during a special club afternoon and tea for all ages.
Wadebridge have been awarded Beacon because it is a club who is committed to delivering and promoting an accessible and affordable tennis programme for all. They offer something for everyone in the community, it is possible just to turn up and pay and play or take advantage of the activities the club put on throughout the year.
Georgina Loosemore Tennis Development Manager for Devon and Cornwall said “Wadebridge Tennis Club are a prime example of a community club, they are driving grassroots tennis and enabling more people to play this is down to the hard work and dedication of the committee and coaches at the club”.
