Owen Young, Bailey Hampson, Janner Bindiren, Aimee Polyblank - All Winners

Hayle Lawn Tennis Club held the last Flybe Mini Masters Series event for this summer on Saturday 14th July 2012 - a Green Ball Event.

By 10am the Club not only saw some unusual 2012 summer sunshine with temperatures rising, but, as play started, the standard of tennis became just as hot!

The quartet of winners were headed by Janner Bindiren, from Mousehole, who remained unbeaten for the duration of the event, and Aimee Polyblank, from Penzance, who lost only one match in a closely contested final set championship tie-break (to Janner). Both Aimee and Janner are coached at the LevertonWilliams Tennis Academy in Bodmin.

There was home success for Bailey Hampson, whose results placed him third in his first ever green ball event and fourth place went to Owen Young from the Dragon Centre in Bodmin.

Chairman of Hayle Lawn Tennis Club and Competitions Organiser, Bob Ratcliffe, commented that it had been a pleasure for the Club to host the three Flybe events throughout the summer and complimented all competitors on their high level of tennis skills, true sportsmanship and immaculate behaviour. He suggested that the proceeds raised from the events will be put, by the Club, to a new fund to help find a Hayle Junior Tennis Superstar. Details of this will be announced in the Cornishman soon.
