17 players come to Heron for the latest stop on the Flybe Mini Masters tour

17 players from Newquay, Truro, Penzance, Menheniot and other parts of Cornwall came to compete at the Mini Red event for 5-8 year olds held at Newquay's Heron Tennis Centre.

Players played 5 or 6 singles matches and had great fun testing what they have been learning in their coaching sessions. Effort levels were high, attitudes and behaviours were good, and much fun was had during the 2 hour indoor event. For some players, like Heron's Jess Brown and Lauren Sandland, it was their first taste of competition play. For others, it was a chance to play matches versus players they had not seen before, some of whom are the Cornwall's finest in this age category. There were no unbeaten players, which points to the similar levels of many of the star performers of the day too!

The next stop on the circuit is on the 9th of November in Truro. Heron's next event for Mini Red players is on the 2nd of March.
