At Tunbridge Wells, John reached his first British Tour final after a notable win in the semi-final against Surrey's Adam Thornton-Brown with a straight sets 6-4 6-4 win.
Unfortunately, in the final he fell short of defeating world ranked Matt Short with Short prevailing 7-5 6-3.
At Paddington British Tour, after a 2 week spell in Holland playing tennis, John went one step further to win his first British Tour event. In the semi final, after saving 2 match points, he once again defeated Adam Thornton-Brown in a hard fought contest 3-6 7-6(8) 6-3.
The final turned out to be a more straight forward & comfortable affair than anticipated with a 6-4 6-3 win over Pierre Clad.
John commented:
"I've had a really good summer achieving some good wins against players higher rated than myself and also getting into the later rounds of tournaments and achieving my first British tour win. Hopefully I can continue to progress throughout the winter, with help from my coach Tim Webster, to improve my rating/ranking and ultimately achieve a world ranking."
Congratulations to John and good luck for the Winter season.
