Tennis Cornwall recently held a Charity Sports Quiz, in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care. The event was held at Heron Tennis, Newquay, and attracted 10 teams from around the county. Some teams obviously entered this for fun, however at the top end competition was close as the event drew towards its final rounds. The eventual winners were from the Launceston club, who going into the final round were in 2nd place, but managed to pip Redruth at the last hurdle.
Refreshments were provided by the county, and an enjoyable evening was had by all who attended. The evening raised £200 for Cornwall Hospice Care. Malcolm Peters, organiser, said "Tennis Cornwall wanted to put on a social evening for our members where on court ability was no advantage. We are also delighted to be able to support Cornwall Hospice Care as a result.
