James Griffin of Casterton School and a member of both Heversham & Kendal Tennis Clubs has had an amazing Easter on the tennis courts of Britain.
James compete`s in the 9 and under age group and has played in tournaments in Leeds (Grade 4 - Winner), Glasgow (Grade 3 -Runner-Up), Hull (Grade 3-Winner), Liverpool (Grade 3-Runner-Up), Preston (Grade 3-Winner - North of England Champion), Birmingham (Grade 3 Runner-Up) this Easter and also made the last 16 of a Grade 2 National event in London where he lost to the eventual winner.
James` coach and father Jon stated ` to enter 6 tournaments and reach 6 finals (5 straight Grade 3 finals) plus reach the last 16 in the UK Nationals is just reward to the dedication and commitment James puts into his tennis and physical conditioning'.
James trains for 11.5 hours per week both with his father and at Bolton IHPC where Amanda Twigg (Head of Performance Mini Tennis) watches over him.
Following his Easter success James is now ranked Number 1 (9 & Under Boy) in North Region and Number 4 in the UK on the LTA`s Regional Tour Leaderboard.
