James Griffin has achieved a personal goal by becoming Number 1 Lawn Tennis Associations Under 9 Boys Regional Tour Leaderboard.
James, who plays at Kendal & Heversham Tennis Clubs, has played in Grade 3 Events in Glasgow, Liverpool, Hull, Preston, Ayr, Birmingham and Doncaster since the start of the Summer rankings season (1st April) collecting ranking points and trophy`s along the way. He has won two tournaments, been runner-up in 4 and came 4th in the other showing a remarkable level of consistancy.
Proud father and coach Jon Griffin stated; "James works so hard at his tennis, giving up many activities to create time for training that he deserves all the success and acolades that are coming his way. A special mention should be given to his school, Casterton School, who have dovetailed his timetable to enable him to finish school early 3 days a week to assist with his development and who release him once a month to train at the North of England Regional training Camps."
James trains for 12 hours per week both locally and at Bolton High Performance Centre where he also undertakes strenght and conditioning classes and is overviewed by Amanda Twigg, Head of Performance Mini-tennis.
