Another Runaway Success For The Silloth Open

Tuesday, June 04, 2013

Over 100 players from as far and wide as London, Warrington, Scotland, Sunderland and York decended onto Silloth's picturesque promenade as the third Silloth Open proved to be another runaway success.

With events at 8 & Under through to adult singles and doubles the courtside Gazebo was constantly having to be restocked with cakes and sandwiches and the local ice cream shops and vans were kept busy all week. Reflecting on a fantastic week where over 200 matches were fiercely but fairly fought, tournament organiser David Wise commented: “This was the third Silloth Open and by far the best. Even though we had a spell of rain the support of our committee and junior helpers really helped us through and the whole week went like a dream and the quality of play was really high”.

The club would like to thank all sponsors and helpers and especially Silloth Primary and Solway Community Schools for the use of their facilities.
