The third West Cumbria Mini Red Tour got off to a great start as 17 players took to the courts at Silloth Tennis Club to parade their collective skills.
What ensued was a very competitive first event as Workington’s Casey Pattinson and Carlisle’s Lauren Bell eventually came through against Carlisle’s Cameron Cowan and Penrith’s Zoe Dalton respectively.
Organiser David Wise commented; “Over the past two years there has been a trend of the first event being a bit tentative with the level of play rising over the winter towards the grand finals, but judging by the quality of today we are in for a great winter of tennis as the overall play today was fantastic with the girls’ final epitomising that”.
