Carlisle’s Eden Lawn Tennis Club held its first Open event during the Easter break and what a success it was!
With almost 90 players from places as far flung as Kilmarnock, Leeds, Wigan, the North East and even Kidderminster taking part in junior and senior events the four day long tournament was hailed as a big success by organiser and Referee David Wise:
“From the 8&Under’s to the adults, the quality of play was fantastic and for a first time event the amount of entries was outstanding and this gives the club scope to expand in 2015 to include extra competitions at 14&Under and 18&Under level as well as more adult opportunities. To compliment the tennis and the great club facilities the committee members provided lovely food and a very warm welcome making for a fantastic four days. With the Chatsworth Open following straight on from Eden Lawn Carlisle is definitely the place to be if you want to watch quality tennis over the Easter holidays.”
The club would like to thank all committee members who contributed to making the Eden Lawn Open such a special event and especially Vanessa Taylor for her fantastic catering.
