Maryport Tennis Club’s Casey Pattinson has put in a smashing set of Easter performances across the Tennis courts of Cumbria and the North of England.
After winning the West Cumbria Mini Red Tour (under 8) in March, Casey’s good run of form has continued with tournament wins at the Grade 3 Under 8 North of England Championships in Manchester, the Grade 4 Newcastle Grand Prix under 9 event and the Grade 4 under 8 event at Eden Lawn in Carlisle. He was also runner up in the under 8’s at Newcastle and Chatsworth Tennis Club in Carlisle as well as runner up in the under 9’s at Chatsworth and third place in the under 9’s at Eden Lawn.
A product of the Ashfield Tennis Club funding programme, Casey was talent spotted during a funded session in his school and invited to an open day in the October of 2012. His coach David Wise says of Casey “Casey has picked up the game very well and works very hard on and off the court. His natural athleticism and speed around the court gives him that extra edge to his game and he is a well balanced and very grounded lad who is very easy to work with”.
