A week of wonderfully hot and sunny weather saw record numbers attending Maryport Tennis Club’s annual summer camps as almost 50 children aged from 5 to 14 took to the courts for 5 days of action packed learning and competitive opportunities.
Supported by the local Maryport Neighbourhood Forum the coaching week has a regular place on the busy tennis calendar at the club and is a great place for many children to properly take up a racket for the first time with coach David Wise very pleased to see so many in attendance:
“It seems like we have been doing these camps for years now and this was the best one yet as the weather matched the level of Tennis on the courts. It was so good to see so many new faces and I am hopeful they will be starting on our regular weekly programme. It is also a great place for juniors to volunteer and we were very lucky to have the services of Joe Gilroy and Chloe Routledge as helpers this week.”
