The first leg of the 4th West Cumbria Under 8 Mini Red Tour was held at Silloth recently with some fine action produced by some of Cumbria's finest young Tennis players. Funded by the sale of Ashfield Tennis Club in Workington and administered through Cumbria Community Foundation the format for the Winter series of events is to gather points from 6 successive qualifying competitions held between November and March with the top performers qualifying for the season end Grand Finals at Maryport.
Leading the way at Silloth was Mawbray's Zaynab Brooks and Carlisle's Archie Agnew who came out on top after some compelling matches. Not far behind were runners up Emma Holecova (Maryport) and Ross Lear (Penrith) with Lorton's Vincent Lofgren and Carlisle's Charlotte Gower taking third places. The next leg of the series will be held at Netherhall Sports Centre on the 7th of December.
