Stanton TC are having a pre-Christmas celebration as they have just been awarded clubmark accreditation. The club have become the ninth in Derbyshire to achieve the accreditation.
Tennis clubmark recognises good practice in tennis clubs in areas including action planning, tennis development programmes, policies and procedures and communication. Stanton have been working hard during recent months to put together the Tennis Clubmark folder with the evidence of their range of activities and how the club is run.
Stanton link closely with the indoor tennis centre at Ilkeston, where a comprehensive coaching and competition programme has been developed over the last year.
Paul Sheard, LTA Tennis Development Manager for Derbyshire and Leicestershire visited Stanton to present clubmark.
"I would like to congratulate Stanton on achieving clubmark accreditation. Tony Buck has done a tremendous job pulling together all the evidence required to meet the clubmark criteria and show that they are meeting the quality benchmark set out by Sport England. The club has developed a strong li nk with Rutland Indoor Tennis Centre which has helped attract children into coaching who will become future team players at the club" said Paul.
Stanton are hoping that the outdoor courts at Rutland Sports Park will be resurfaced in 2010 so they can move there as the clubs home venue.
