The Mini Green County League Finals took place at the Duffield Tennis Club on March 29th.
Church Broughton, the winners in the South Division, played Duffield, who were runners-up in the North, in the first semi-final. There were some extremely close and competitive matches played with Church Broughton eventually coming out on top by 6 sets to 4.
In the other semi-final , North winners Chesterfield, took on Derby Tennis Centre who were runners-up in the South. This proved to be an even closer affair with DTC coming out on top after a countback on games by 29 games to 26 , as both teams were tied at five sets each.
Chesterfield then beat Duffield for 3rd/4th place by 8 sets to 2 and in the final, DTC beat Church Broughton 6 sets to 4.
The player of the day was Dylan Garnett from DTC who won all his games.
Rachel Keal, tournament finals referee, commented that it was a privilege to referee the teams present with all players giving 100%, and it was great to see them all supporting each other.
All players who took part received a certificate, with the top two teams being presented with a winners and runners up trophy and each team player received a rosette.
