Junior player Sam Ferguson took top honours by winning the British National under-12 tournament in Bournemouth.
The Derbyshire youngster lost just one game as he beat Omari Owens-Maxwell, of Middlesex, 6-0, 6-1 in the final of the competition at the West Hants Club.
Top seed Ferguson reached the last round by taking out the fourth seed and doubles partner Marcus Walters, of Nottinghamshire, with a 6-2, 6-7, 6-1 win.
He is thought to be one of the first Derbyshire players to win a national title for more than 20 years.
Ferguson was also one of three Derbyshire players to reach the quarter finals of the competition.
And he almost clinched back-to-back titles but finished runner-up in the doubles final with Walters, losing 6-3, 5-7, 11-13.
The youngster said: "I'm very pleased because I definitely felt I brought my best tennis to the court and dominated from the start.
"I didn't give him many chances to get back into the match.
"It was hard at the start of the week because it was raining and then I thought, as the week progressed, it definitely got better. I played my best tennis towards the end of the week."
