The countdown is now on to the first ever Derbyshire Tennis Annual Awards with less than seven days to go. The big event will take place at Pride Park Stadium, Derby on Friday 12th February when over 350 tennis enthusiasts from around the county will congregate to celebrate the successes of the last year.
The list of short listed nominees was announced in early January and since then there has been much speculation and debate as to who the potential winners will be. The awards evening will also include the presentation of the Derby Area and Chesterfield League winners as players and teams from around the county have their moment in the spotlight.
It will be a big day for tennis in Derbyshire as LTA Chief Executive Roger Draper will arrive in the morning to do a tour of a number of clubs in the county. He will start at Chesterfield before moving on to Duffield, Derbyshire Tennis Centre before finally visiting David Lloyd Derby. Draper will then head to Pride Park where he will join the other guest of honour Wimbledon Referee Andrew Jarrett and the Derbyshire Tennis community for what should be a great night!
