The shortlist for the first annual Derbyshire Tennis Awards has been announced ahead of the gala presentation night at Pride Park Stadium on 12 February 2010.

The event will see clubs from across Derbyshire gather alongside the men’s and women’s county teams as well as high profile tennis figures like Wimbledon referee Andrew Jarrett and LTA Chief Executive Roger Draper.

Commenting on the Awards shortlist, Derbyshire LTA President, John Last said: ‘It has been a great year for Derbyshire tennis with outstanding performances from our men’s, women’s and junior teams. However, these Awards aren’t just about recognising the elite players - we want to reward those volunteers, clubs and coaches who are the heartbeat of tennis in this County. We look forward to gathering at Pride Park to do just that on 12 February.”

A limited number of tickets are still available for the dinner. A table of ten costs £200, individual tickets are also available at £20. The ticket price includes a meal and disco.

As well as the individual awards, presentations will also be made to those clubs who triumphed in 2009’s Derby Area League competition. The shortlist for the Awards was compiled from nominations from players, coaches and club representatives from across the county.
