Ashbourne TC in Derbyshire were celebrating this week as they were awarded LTA clubmark accreditation. The club have become the eleventh in the county to achieve the accreditation.
Tennis Clubmark recognises good practice in tennis clubs in areas including action planning, tennis development programmes, policies and procedures and communication. Ashbourne have been working hard during recent months to put together the Tennis Clubmark folder with evidence of their range of activities and how the club is run.
Paul Sheard, LTA Tennis Development Manager for Derbyshire and Leicestershire visited Ashbourne to observe the club coaching sessions and congratulate some of the club committee members on their efforts.
“I would like to congratulate Ashbourne on achieving clubmark accreditation. Jenni Bull has done a fantastic job pulling together all the evidence required to meet the tennis clubmark criteria and show that they are meeting the quality benchmark set out by Sport England. It’s been a great effort by the club and its volunteers and demonstrates their commitment to provide the best possible opportunities and environment for the local tennis community” said Paul.
It's been a good year for Jenni and the club after she picked up the Volunteer of the Year prize at the Derbyshire Annual Awards Evening held at Pride Park in February. The club will now turn their attention to hopefully relocating to a new site at some point in the not too distant future.
