Nominations are now being taken for this year's Derbyshire Sports Awards.
The annual awards aim to recognise the achievements of those who have excelled in their particular field as well as hard-working coaches and volunteers who are involved in sport at any level.
Last year's winners included basketball team Derby Trailblazers' under-18s, who were named Junior Team of the Year at both the Derby Sports Awards and Derbyshire Sports Awards. Coach Tim Lascelles was named Performance Coach of the Year at the same events.
Councillor Clive Moesby, Chair of Derbyshire Sport, which runs the competition, said: "Derbyshire has a huge wealth of sporting talent and the Derbyshire Sports Awards are a great way to recognise the achievements of individuals and clubs.
"Our sports system could also not operate without all the dedicated coaches and volunteers who spend their time encouraging people to become more active and the awards are also an opportunity to recognise those who always go the extra mile."
Winners from each local authority will be considered for the Derbyshire Sports Awards, where the winner and runner up for each category will be invited to attend a prestigious ceremony at The Roundhouse in Derby in November.
Entry forms and full details can be found at www.derbyshiresport.co.uk/sportsawards. The closing date for nominations is August 20.
Categories include Sportsperson of the Year, Community Coach of the Year, Service to Sport Award and Club of the Year.
