DAVID Lloyd firsts have won the Division One title after beating their closest rivals in the Derby Area Tennis League.
The ladies won all seven of their summer season matches to claim the championship – the last victory coming against second-placed Church Broughton firsts.
The hard-fought 5-4 win came despite Church Broughton's Nicola Oborn and Louise Beeston taking all three sets.
At the other end of the table, Woodlands firsts' 5-4 win over Littleover was not enough to save them from relegation, after they followed it with a 7-2 loss at Duffield firsts.
Littleover, meanwhile, followed their defeat by beating Duffield but both teams are still in the relegation battle along with Ashbourne firsts, who lost 6-3 to the Derbyshire Tennis Centre.
In Division Two, David Lloyd seconds continued their promotion campaign with a 6-3 win over Ockbrook and Borrowash seconds, with Sue Arrowsmith and Alison Harvey winning three sets for the latter.
Woodlands' second team secured their spot in the division for next year by beating Duffield thirds 7-2 and, in Division Three, Belper Meadows firsts did the same.
Eileen Maddison and Annette Carter took three sets as Belper beat David Lloyd thirds 6-3.
And, in Division Four, Rolls-Royce seconds had a strong finish to their season, with a 9-0 whitewash over the Central United Reformed Church.
In the men's section, Duffield firsts' sixth straight win in Division One – the 7-2 victory over Ripley – means a Duffield side will win the title for a fourth consecutive year, with only Duffield's second team the other squad in contention.
Church Broughton firsts secured their top flight status with a 5-4 win over Ashbourne's top side.
Duffield thirds moved out of the relegation zone in Division Two with a 6-3 win over Ockbrook and Borrowash seconds.
In Division Three, the second promotion place was claimed by Derbyshire Tennis Centre when they beat Belper Meadows firsts 5-4, with three sets from Ian McKinnon and Mandeep Sangha.
It also meant Belper missed out on the move to Division Two for the second year running.
Ripley seconds claimed their fourth consecutive victory of the season when they beat Littleover 5-4, Nick Ussher and Adam Plunkett winning three sets for the latter.
Littleover responded with successive 6-3 away wins over Ashbourne thirds and the Central United Reformed Church to move to second.
Melbourne also triumphed 6-3 at Rolls-Royce thirds, thanks to three sets from Alex Slater and Mark Rossi.
In Division Four, Stanton's 5-4 win at Rolls-Royce fourths – which came despite three sets from Nick Lehouchu and Keith Taylor for Royces – was not enough to see them pip Ockbrook and Borrowash thirds to second place.
Church Broughton thirds stayed out of the relegation spots despite a 5-4 defeat to Little Eaton seconds.
In Division Six, the league's only two fifth teams met and it was Duffield who took home the spoils, beating Rolls-Royce 6-3 and moving up to third place.
