DERBYSHIRE'S highest-ranked female tennis player has won the AEGON British Tour title in Ilkley.
Yasmin Clarke dropped only one set on her way to the championship, which forms part of her quest to reach the British Tour Masters at the end of the year.
The tour, which has two levels – Tier One and Tier Two – sees the top 14 point scorers from both tiers invited to compete in separate Masters in December.
Clarke currently leads the 179-strong leaderboard with 5,600 points, 1,769 points ahead of nearest challenger Emilia Banos-Gregorians, of Surrey.
The 20-year-old received a bye in the first round of the West Yorkshire tournament, before beating Hollie Bees 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
In the quarter-finals, she won 6-2, 6-4 against Amy Hoburn and booked her place in the final with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over third seed Aimee Gibson.
Clarke, the number one seed, then lost one game in her 6-1, 6-0 over fourth seed Emily Crowe to take the title.
Meanwhile, fellow Derbyshire players Ceire Mullins and Tiran Sanghera both won titles in the Tennis Europe event in Dublin.
Mullins, competing as the second seed in the 14-and-under girls' singles, won her first three matches for the loss of 12 games.
She then beat Britain's Eden Richardson 5-7, 7-5, 6-2 in the semi-finals and the number one seed Karola Patricia Bejenaru, of Romania, 6-4, 6-1, to win the tournament.
Unseeded Sanghera and partner Robert Leck took part in the boys' doubles and won 1-6, 6-1, 10-5 against number one seeds Daniel Bennett and Jay Clarke, of Derbyshire, for the title.
