Katy beat Olivia Noble (Yorkshire) in the 14 and under Final, then beat Kim Atkinson (Yorkshire) in the 16 and under final, Kim is ranked number one in Yorkshire at both 16s and 18s and is ranked 4 Nationally at 18 and under.
On the way to beating Kim in the final Katy also beat Laura Twidale who is the number one at 16s and 18s in Lincolnshire.
Training
Katy has been playing tennis since she was 6 years old, she was a pupil at Kirkstead primary school and is now at Frederick Gent school. The Headteacher Mr Cooper at Frederick Gent school has been very supportive about Katy’s tennis allowing her to have time out when necessary. Katy lives in Pinxton but trains at Derbyshire Tennis Centre in Derby with her coach Phil Wilcock and also at Graves Tennis Centre in Sheffield.
West Bridgford
Katy also won the West Bridgford (Nottinghamshire) open in July this year and has represented both the County 14 and under 18 side, where in all her matches for the County she won every singles game and every doubles game.
County Matches
More recently she has played for the Derbyshire Ladies 1st team in Inter County matches against Devon, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire where she lost one match 7 5 in a third set and won both of her other 2 matches.

Ranking
Katy is ranked number 1 in both 16s and 18s for Derbyshire.
Katy is also ranked 31 in the United Kingdom (including Scotland etc.), this includes players born in 1997, 1996, 1995, and 1994.
There are only two people in the country born in 1996 (same as Katy) ranked higher than Katy.
