A relegation battle could be looming for Ockbrook and Borrowash in Division One of the Derby Area Tennis League.
The 2009 second division champions go into their match against Church Broughton next week having already lost their three fixtures of the summer season.
Their latest defeat came at home to defending champions Duffield Firsts and the 9-0 loss has left them at the bottom of the table.
But the comfortable win put Duffield at the top of the division, ahead of David Lloyd, who thrashed Ashbourne 8-1.
Ockbrook and Borrowash seconds, meanwhile, are faring much better in Division Two and have lost only once in three matches – 6-3 at home against Burton.
The away side were helped by three sets each from Adrian Murphy and Andrew Brown-Dawson.
At Duffield, the club's fourth team were beaten 6-3 by Woodlands, courtesy of three sets from both Tony Sharpe and Steve Hanks.
Lakeside are back on track in Division Three after winning their last two matches against Derbyshire Tennis Centre and Darley Dale.
The 5-4 success over the former came in spite of three sets each from DTC's Mandeep Sangha and Ian McKinnon, while Lakeside demolished the latter 8-1.
The Central United Reformed Church seconds go into their Division Four match next week on the back of two defeats.
Their 7-2 loss to Ripley – helped by three sets from John Farmer and Wynne Garnett – was followed by a 6-3 defeat at Woodlands seconds.
Rolls-Royce thirds achieved their first win of the season with a hard-fought victory over a young Ashbourne third team.
The match, which featured four tie-breaks, was level at 3-3 after the second round of sets but, as dew starting to settle on the grass courts, Rolls-Royce took the final three sets for a 6-3 win.
Their fourth team were not so successful in Division Five, losing 5-4 at New Watchorn, Rod Maskrey and Keith Stendall winning three sets for the home side.
In the ladies' section, the Division One title is being tightly contested by the first teams of Church Broughton and David Lloyd.
Both sides have defeated the defending champions, Derbyshire Tennis Centre, 6-3 and are scheduled to play each other next month at Church Broughton.
In Division Two, New Watchorn suffered a 4-5 defeat against Woodlands seconds, despite three sets from Linda Buxton and Natalie Warner.
But it was a different story for Woodlands' third team in Division Three.
They were whitewashed 9-0 by Ripley and then lost 5-4 to visitors Church Broughton seconds – although Gail Kitchen and Jackie Russell won three sets for the home side.
