A street-by-street route of the Olympic Torch's journey through Derbyshire has been released by London 2012 organisers.
Preparations for the iconic flame's arrival can finally begin, now that scores of businesses are learning that it will be carried right past their shop window.
The date for your diary is Friday, June 29.
The torch will leave Nottingham at 7am and make its way to Bolsover, Chesterfield, Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton before heading south into Ashbourne and Derby, where huge celebrations will be held in the Market Place and Darley Park.
Carried by an army of local "torchbearers" – whose names have not all yet been released – the flame will enter the city via the A52 from Ashbourne.
It will pass under the historic Friar Gate Bridge before looping around the streets of the Cathedral Quarter. Then, it will travel across the Market Place and twice under the shadow of Derby Cathedral's 16th-century tower.
With thousands expected to line the route, there will be growing excitement as the flame makes its way from the Market Place, up Duffield Road and towards Darley Park, where an official London 2012 show will be televised live on the BBC.
The 80-acre green space is one of 65 sites outside of London hosting an official celebration to welcome the 2012 flame. Of those, only five have been chosen for additional television coverage – including Darley Park.
Entertainment will start in the Market Place from 4pm, culminating in the arrival of the torch at 6.50pm.
Crowds are expected to gather at Darley Park from 5.30pm. Councillor Hilary Jones, cabinet member for leisure and culture, said the Olympic Flame would "shine a light on our city and all those who witnessed the spectacle of the torch relay".
She said: "The announcement of the Derby streets the Olympic Flame will travel along really brings the route to life and I would encourage everyone in the city to get involved in the fantastic opportunity.
"It's a chance to come together as a community, line the route and celebrate in the Olympic spirit."
Now that the route has been confirmed, Councillor Mike Longden said the county council could press ahead with organising events to celebrate the torch's arrival.
"We'll be keeping residents up to date with all the latest information on our website and linking up with borough and district councils to make sure everyone knows what's going on, where they can see the torch and how they can get involved in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," he said.
The torch will stay overnight in Derby and set off for Birmingham early the next morning. It will travel via Burton and visit the town's Coors Brewery, Cooper's Square Shopping Centre and Pirelli Stadium.
The University of Derby has announced plans to film the torch's journey through Derbyshire so technology students can produce a DVD.
A spokesman for the university said: "We are producing the film so that in 50 years' time people will be able to look back and see how the county celebrated such a momentous occasion."
Sebastian Coe, chairman of London 2012 organisers Locog, said he was delighted the route had been finalised.
"Now the people know the route the Olympic Flame will be carried along, they can start planning how they might celebrate and make it their community's moment to shine."
An average of 115 torchbearers a day will carry it during its 8,000-mile journey around the UK before it arrives at the Olympic Stadium on July 27 for the opening ceremony.
The streets along the entire route can now be viewed at www.london2012.com/olympictorchrelay
About 110 people will have the honour of running 300 metres with the torch in Derbyshire.
Each will wear a white and gold uniform designed by Adidas.
