Derbyshire's men lost only one rubber as they stormed to promotion from Division 4A at this year's AEGON Winter County Cup.
The nine-strong squad trounced Staffordshire 9-0 in the opening tie at the three-day event , before beating Gloucestershire 8-1.
That left Derbyshire needing only a couple of rubbers against Nottinghamshire to secure promotion but, with their rivals trying to avoid relegation, it was only when Derbyshire were 6-0 up that play was finally stopped.
Derbyshire skipper Dennis Archer said he was delighted by his side's performance in Sheffield.
He said: "It couldn't have gone any better, it was a good three days from the lads.
"I think it's the strongest team we've had for a couple of years and, in many ways, it's a shame we weren't in a higher group when so many were available.
"The only rubber they lost was a doubles match against Gloucestershire, which went to three sets, so that's a brilliant achievement."
Derbyshire's ladies were relegated from Division 3A after losing three ties at Tipton, West Midlands.
They suffered a 6-3 loss against Essex on the opening day, followed by a 7-2 defeat to Leicestershire and a 5-4 loss to Norfolk.
