The shortlist for this year's Derbyshire Annual Awards has now been announced and includes many of the top players, coaches and club volunteers from around the county.
The fourth annual Derbyshire Tennis Awards will take place at Pride Park Stadium on Friday 8th February and will see in excess of 300 tennis enthusiasts from around the county congregate for the annual celebration of Derbyshire Tennis.
This year will include a guest speaker for the first time and former British number one and television commentator Annabel Croft will be the guest of honour for the evening. Annabel will do a short speech at the start of the evening and will also help present the awards to the winners of each category.
Ten awards will be presented on the night for the best player, coach or team of the year in each category. The categories are as follows:- volunteer, boys’ junior player, girls’ junior player, coach, men’s player, women’s player, veteran’s player, club player, club, and the Derek Wardle Memorial Award. Organiser Jenni Quibell said: “We want to celebrate this by bringing everyone together as we look to reward the players, volunteers, clubs and coaches who are the heartbeat of tennis in this county.”
