This year the competition was held at Tarka Tennis Centre Barnstaple in April.
In the ladies semi finals, The Devonshire defeated Westward Ho! 4-0 whilst Civil Service had a very close encounter with Exeter Golf and Country Club winning 6-4 on a countback of sets. In the Men’s semi finals Hill Lane beat Civil Service 4-0 whilst Westward Ho! battled with Torquay losing 4-0. It was nice to see representatives of all levels of Devon County’s teams on court together in these matches.
The finals were played in the afternoon. In the ladies event a strong Devonshire team won the title for the first time with twins Tamsin and Shannon Sandy unbeaten all day.
The Men’s Final produced again some very high quality tennis and was won convincingly by Torquay beating Hill Lane 3-1. Torquay’s first pair – Matt Sergeant and Skene Matthews won all four of their matches.
