The Devon LTA AGM on the 30th of January was followed by the presentation of County Awards.
Devon LTA was delighted to recognise committment and effort displayed by members of the Devon tennis community.
Congratulations go to :
Club of the Year - Newton St Cyres Tennis Club
Coach of the Year - Ben Elliott of Seaton & Sidmouth Tennis Clubs
Junior Player of the Year - Emma Hurst
Senior Player of the Year - Pippa Britton
Volunteer of the Year - Jointly awarded to Grayson Newton (Seaton TC) and Andy Malcom (Willand TC, Devon LTA, Exeter & District League)
A special award was made to Sheila Thomas (Cary Park JTC) who becomes an Honorary Life Member in recognition of her many years devoted service to tennis in the County both at her club but also as organiser for many years of the Devon Schools leagues.
On the same evening County Colours were awarded to :
Amanda Cox, Nikki Trlease, Nicola Irvine (née Broadbent), Lois Fletcher, Luci Ahl.
Bruce Wheatley, Dave Palmer.
Nominations and voting for the five County awards took place in the autumn and other nominees in the categories were:
Club - Exmouth Tennis & Leisure, Victoria Park, Ottery St Mary, Westward Ho!
Coach - Rhys Dunford, Laura James, Paul Nelson
Junior Player - Emily Syms, Mia Loye
David Vinall, Chairman of Devon LTA, presented the awards following the AGM and the evening was kindly hosted by the David Lloyd Tennis Centre in Exeter.
