The Devon Ladies Over 60s tennis team had a successful trip up to Warwickshire on Saturday 28th May 2016. They played at the Kenilworth Tennis, Squash and Croquet Club.
The team was represented by Nicki Keele (Captain) Sally Bassinder from Calne, Julie Hopkinson from Seaton and Gill Clay from West Hill.
The result was a 3-1 to Devon.
On Friday 6th may the Over 70 ladies played Somerset and had an enjoyable afternoon resulting in a 5-4 win. Devon first pair, Sue Doncaster and Sue williams, narrowly lost their first match in a championship tie break but carried on to defeat the Somerset second pair. Devon second pair, Margaret Hammett and Dylys Bradshaw won in straight sets over the Somerset second pair but lost to their first pair.
A nice tea rounded off the day and a great start to the season!
