Our Over 40s team began their season with a walkover as cambridgeshire were unable to bring a team and the Over 50s first match was a defeat by Oxfordshire 3-2.
The Over 60s played their first match of the season against Dorset at the West Hants club on 19th May. The team was represented by Marilyn Barlow (Sidford), Sally Bassinder (Caine), Nicki Keele (Seaton) and Gill Clay (Budleigh Salterton). The team were unable to clinch any rubbers. However, Sally and Marilyn had two very close matches, one ending up on a very close championship tie break.
The over 65s had a great result against hampshire & IOW at Exmouth on 3rd May, winning 4-0. The team of Linda Knight, Anne Tait, Jenny Doig and Ali Miller put on a fine performance!
The teams have home fixtures throughout the season and would welcome any supporters or indeed if anyone is interested in perhaps joining the squads, these are a great opportunity to see what it's all about.
Over 40s playing at Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre on Sunday 07 June v Hants & IOW and Saturday 27 June v Herts.
Over 50s playing at Torquay LTC on Sunday 19 July v Gloucs and Sunday 26 July v Middx, both starting at 11am.
Over 60s playing at Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre on Saturday30 May v Bucks, Saturday 08 August v Gloucs and Saturday 12 September v Somerset. All matches start 12noon.
Over 65s playing at Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre on Sunday 05 July v South Wales starting at 1pm.
