Despite the rain which actually arrived as forecast, the Junior County Closed Championships enjoyed a great atmosphere and saw some terrific tennis.

This year's most improved player trophy went to Exeter's Robert Leck and the Pat Chadwick Cup for good conduct was awarded to Rhys Dunford of Ivybridge.
The Esporta Devonshire in Plymouth hosted the mini tennis events, expertly run again this year by Jane & Peter Wilson with help from the Tennis Leaders of Plympton Tennis Club.
Referee David Marks commented that he was impressed with the attitude and sportsmanship demonstrated by the majority of players which he felt had greatly contributed to the spirit of the tournament.
