The Devon Senior County Closed produced its usual high standard of tennis despite relatively low entry numbers, especially for the ladies' events.
Congratulations to Jack Findel-Hawkins and Kendal Brown who won the men's and ladies' singles respectively.
Played over the May bank holiday weekend at the South Devon Tennis Centre in Ivybridge, this was the last Senior Closed being refereed by Devon's former chairman, Peter Bayliss who to the County's regret, retired from refereeing this year.
Mixed weather meant play moved indoors more than was hoped for but the standard was high with the men’s singles semi-finals and final being well contested and providing very entertaining matches. The new Men’s Veteran Doubles event at 60 and over also proved very popular.
