Most Improved Player (Toppy Anstey Salver) Rebecca Ley
Sir Simon Day, the President of Devon County LTA and chairman David Vinall presented the trophies to the winners and runners up, complementing all competitors on the high standard of play and sportsmanship on display at the tournament.
Expressing pleasure at the increase in the number of female competitors at this year's tournament, David Vinall went on to thank Bill Ahl, the referee, and the staff and committee of the host venue, the South Devon Tennis Centre in Ivybridge as well as those most important people, the players' parents!
Bill Ahl said, "For the first time in years the bad weather had a great deal to say particularly at the beginning of the event when we are at our most busy. However, unlike a few years ago we are now able to abbreviate the scoring system and this had to be employed on the Monday when we managed to complete all main draw events in time and indoors on 4 courts (as opposed to 8 as normal). Just imagine having to play best of 3 full sets!"
