Dorset Team Tennis organisers Andrew and Judith Sanger were commended at this years end of season Team Tennis Organisers awards. The leagues, containing clubs from right across Dorset, included 83 teams and 409 players an increase of 6 teams on the same event in 2010. Andrew and Judith were commended amongst other counties for their high match completion rates and improvements in the number of teams and players taking part in the event.
Tennis Development Manager James Deem said “Andrew and Judith do a fantastic job organising Aegon Team Tennis and they deserve their award”. He added “the clubs of Dorset really appreciate how lucky they to have such excellent organisers for the prestigious event”.
It most also be noted that Andrew and Judith put a huge amount of work in other areas of Dorset Tennis including the summer adult doubles leagues (170 teams, 1232 players), winter adult doubles league (136 teams, 1271 players) and the U14 road to Wimbledon competition.
For their hard work in organising the leagues they received a box of chocolates from LTA competitions team members George Donnelly and Matt Byford. Andrew and Judith were also noted and applauded at the Dorset LTA AGM on the 30th November for their excellent voluntary service to Dorset Tennis. LTA Councillor Richard Henshaw simply said “they do a fantastic job”.
