Harry Butler competed in the Grade 2 Solihull Junior International from the 13th – 16th July 2010. Despite the atrocious weather conditions of driving rain and a complete soaking on the Tuesday, he completed the task of qualifying to the Quarter Final on Thursday. If it wasn’t the rain this time, he also had to contend with the high winds and an opponent that took the first 3 games in the first set. Harry’s determination and fighting spirit saw him claw back 5 consecutive games to win the set 5–3 & 4–1. Harry then saw off his opponent in the Semi-Final on Friday 4-1, 4-1 and to quote his coach James Pankhurst “this is the best to date that I have seen Harry play, fantastic”. With the Final on the Saturday the weather abated which resulted in the unfortunate loss for Harry. His performance and attitude over the week together with his coach James Pankhurst continues to put him on the positive road for the journey ahead.
