This years 14 & Under Road to Wimbledon Finals were held at the Bournemouth Gardens Tennis club last weekend.
22 boys and 11 girls had battled their way through the tough qualifying stages to reach the finals of this prestigious event, and the finals were as expected fiercely contested.
In the boys singles, both the number 1 seed Adam Cater and number 2 seed Otto Gray saw off all their challengers to meet in the final. Both had impressive straight sets wins in the lead up to the final, however it was the number 2 seed who eventually proved victorious. Otto Gray beat Adam Carter 6-2 6-4 to claim the title.
In the girls draw, Selina Briggs proved too strong for the competition and stormed to an impressive victory. Selina failed to drop a single game throughout the event and ruthlessly saw off the challenge of number 4 seed Emily Morey in final 6-0 6-0! Selina will certainly be one to watch for the finals in August if she is able to continue performing at this level.
