Weymouth Tennis Club Enjoy Success In AEGON Team Tennis

Monday, November 26, 2012

Teams made up from around 30 players from Weymouth Tennis Club took part in age groups between 9U and 14U in the latest stage of the AEGON Team Tennis Dorset 2012 competition.

The 14U team, consisting of George Morrissey, Bradley Webb, Kaiese Brown and Ryan Blair, reigned supreme in Division One of their category. On their way to being crowned champions, the outstanding team lost just an average of one singles match per tie.

Abbie Tyler, Sophia Hurrion, Rhys Halcrow and Rory Bale make up the 9U team, who play in the Mini-Tennis Orange format, won the West Group stages. The County play-offs were next up for the Weymouth youngsters and despite coming up against top opposition from Victoria Avenue and West Hants, they were able to come through some tight-matches to emerge as the victors and each be awarded with a personalized pendant in light of their success.
