For the second year running, the final of the North East Winter Mini Orange League was contested between two Sunderland Tennis Centre teams.
Tensions were running high when the Sunderland Sting Rays met the Sunderland Sharks - and that was just the parents! Not to mention Coach, Anthony Reynolds who had coached both teams!
All the players competed magnificently, showing great team spirit and determination. The tennis was of a very high standard, with nail biting rallies and close matches – especially the doubles.
The Sting Rays (James Parkin, Tom Davies, Georgina Murrish and Halle Pringle) eventually won through against the Sharks (Matthew Heywood, Sophia Wright, Sophie Jackson and Jonathan Gray) 16 – 4. Although the final score definitely didn't reflect the quality of matches played.
To top off a great afternoon of tennis, the teams celebrated with a party.
